Karoline Pöhn is a textile and mixed-media artist based in Linz, Austria. Her practice centers on found, discarded, and overlooked materials, which she treats as co-creators rather than passive matter. Working primarily with textiles and domestically connoted objects, she explores themes of memory, neglected potential, and the quiet forms of violence embedded in everyday life.
Through soft, approachable forms, friendly colors, and tactile surfaces, her work disarms viewers while addressing complex and often uncomfortable subjects. Beauty and material intimacy function as thresholds – inviting audiences to feel before they seek to understand.
Her process is grounded in an extensive preliminary practice she terms Pace-Works, through which the conceptual and embodied core of each work gradually emerges.
